TCU's Black Alumni Alliance seeks to provide an avenue for black alumni to participate in the life of the University, including interaction with current students and other alumni. In addition, the Alliance seeks to offer its members a culturally supportive environment through programming, community service and social events.
In 2002, the BAA established the BAA Scholarship Fund to financial support and encourage students to achieve the goal of graduating from Texas Christian University. To apply, students will have earned 36 or more credit hours and have a grade point average of at least 2.8. Preference for an award is given to students of African descent. The applicant must submit a 1,000-1,500 word essay on the topic noted on the scholarship application. The student must demonstrate an active record of service to the TCU community by submitting letters of reference from the service project leader about their role.
