Cedar Walton is one of the most universally respected jazz pianists active today. Cedar’s most recent honor was being named the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master for 2010, the nation’s highest honor in jazz. Before the concert, join other alumni, parents and friends at a reception with a pre-concert talk by Curt Wilson, professor and director of jazz studies at TCU.
The 33rd Annual Jazz Festival consist of two nights: The Saturday night concert at 7:30 pm in Ed Landreth, features all three of the TCU Jazz Ensembles and guest saxophone artist, Mario Cruz. Those tickets are $10 per person and are available for purchase just prior to the concert in the lobby of Ed Landreth. There is no reserved seating for this concert.
